Electronic health record system

You work in a practice with five gynecologists and a nurse practitioner. The office has just used its new electronic health record system to determine which of its female patients ages 40 and older have not yet had a mammogram or have not done so within the past year, and you and your staff have been asked to contact those patients. The patient’s husband answers when you reach the third name on the list. What, if anything, can you tell him without violating your patient’s privacy rights under HIPAA? Would it be better just to hang up?
