Type II diabetes mellitus

  • Harvey Wilson is a 65-year-old patient with type II diabetes mellitus (DM) and has been taking medications for this issue since his late 40s. Mr. Harvey has a history of HTN, HLF, CHF and crohn’s disease. He has normal renal function. He is on metformin at the maximum dose but does complain from time to time about some gastrointestinal (GI) issues and elevated HgA1C readings. His liver enzymes are slightly evaluated, complete metabolic panel (CMP) and complete blood count (CBC) results are normal.
