The cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary pathophysiologic processes

A 55-year-old high school teacher begins experiencing an ugh after an apparent teacher, conference. Initially, it was a mild cough and the teacher thought nothing of it since he had a history of asthma. As he was driving home, the cough became more intense, and he began experiencing chest tightness. He used his rescue inhaler as usual but did not get any relief. Minutes later he began experiencing chest pain, unlike the tightness that he experienced with his asthma.

He began to sweat profusely, and experience light-headedness and difficulty breathing. He attempted to pull into a park but passed out and struck the curve causing his vehicle to come to a stop. A passerby saw the incident and called 9-1-1. On the scene, the paramedic found the man unconscious. His EKG revealed ST segment elevation in the anterior leads (V3 and V4), his pulse was shallow, and respirations were 10 breaths/min. Upon arrival to the ER, their troponin level was 13ng/l and his CK level was 265 U/L.

In your Case Study Analysis related to the scenario provided, explain the following

  • The cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary pathophysiologic processes result in the patient presenting these symptoms.
  • Any racial/ethnic variables that may impact physiological functioning.
  • How these processes interact affects the patient.

Providing the theoretical platform that facilitates nurses to deliver quality care

Providing the theoretical platform that facilitates nurses to deliver quality care and change their behavior in the field of healthcare, nursing theories are essential to the profession. Theoretical frameworks that serve to set standards for both primary and secondary nursing practices are in place, regardless of the nursing specialty in question. A thorough understanding of nursing theory and its application is required for the professional nurse and other specializations involved in a patient’s care in communicating with one another. APNs’ “professional autonomy,” “professional responsibility,” and “professional liability” are all supported by the law, in addition to their “professional liability.”

In order to differentiate nursing as a separate profession from medicine and science courses, nursing theory is used to assist nurses in greater understanding their patients and their requirements. The theory provides a variety of templates to assist nurses in providing care that is respectful of patients and results in improved outcomes. Nursing theory can assist patients, supervisors, and other healthcare providers in recognizing the distinctive contribution that nurses make to the healthcare system by instilling a sense of identity in nurses. It also helps nurses comprehend their purpose and function in the healthcare setting if they are provided with a definition of nursing theory.

Nursing theory is a methodical and empirically supported explanation and summary of nursing events. Nurses must understand how to collect data, which data to collect, and which interpretations to apply based on the theorist’s viewpoint. They must also understand how to plan and deliver care, make changes, and evaluate the patient’s outcomes. The goal of this study is to show how nursing theory can be used to implement nursing care in health care facilities (HCFs) by orienting nurses on how to use it in practice.

In their essence, nursing theories are practical in nature, and they assist us in communicating more effectively with those we serve as well as with colleagues, students, and others working in the health-care field.”
It is also important because it can be used to guide our way of thinking about nursing. Nursing theory is used to help nurses better understand their patients and their needs in order to distinguish patient care as a distinct discipline from medicine and related sciences. Diagnosis of Jaundice

Diagnosis of Jaundice. Martin and Kim were both twenty-five when they had Michael, their first child. Kim remained very healthy during her pregnancy and went into labor at 9:00 p.m., just 3 days after her due date. Delivery went quite smoothly, and that evening, mother and child rested comfortably. Two days later, Kim and Michael were released from the hospital. That evening at feeding time, Kim noticed that the whites of Michael’s eyes seemed just slightly yellow, a condition that worsened noticeably by the next morning. Kim decided to bring the newborn into the ER the next evening. Upon examining Michael you inform Martin and Kim that the infant has neonatal jaundice, a condition quite common in newborns and one that need not cause them too much concern. You ask that the parents follow up with Michael’s pediatrician in order to monitor blood bilirubin concentration until the bilirubin concentration drops into the normal range.
