Case study scenario 1: Assume that you are working as an EN in a stroke unit. Sherly, 48 years, is admitted with middle cerebral artery stroke and is recovering well. She is due to be discharged tomorrow. Sherly has severe paresis and sensory loss of left extremities, uncoordinated movements and slurred speech. Sherly requires restorative care and is anxious about her future life. She requires a wheel chair to move around. Sherly is a migrant with permanent residency in Australia. She has limited knowledge and understanding of resources that she could utilise in managing her condition.
