Action of extra-ocular muscles

A 27-year-old female is brought to the emergency department by ambulance following a motorcycle accident. She presented with facial lacerations, but no obvious fractures confirmed by CT scan. The attending emergency room physician noted a medial strabismus of her right eyeball on eye examination.

Questions:

1. Identify the main action of all seven of the extra-ocular muscles and the nerve innervation of all seven of the  muscles.

2. What is strabismus? Which cranial nerve injury most likely caused this patient’s abnormality? Which muscle is paralyzed in this patient?
