Jason, a 13 year old male comes in with Mom complaining of painful swallowing. Started yesterday as a “really bad sore throat” made worse with swallowing. He reports feeling very tired. His Mom gave him over-the-counter Children’s Motrin which made his fever better but did not help sore throat. He reports his symptoms are especially, worse during nighttime.

His tonsils are 2+ and erythematous, tonsil stones are present on the right side. He has white patches on his tongue.

Directions: It is generally agreed that taking notes is a way to anchor your learning. That is what this journal assignment is all about helping you to anchor the readings in your mind.  In this course, you are asked to write a reflection of your “take away” from the assigned readings. Please pay special attention to the directions for each journal assignment.

You will be asked to address specific learning objectives for the assigned week and reflect upon your personal learning as well.

Note that these journals are NOT public. The faculty in the course have access to them but your student colleagues do not.

Please record your “aha” moments or other insights that you may have gained about yourself or your organization.  The minimal length for the journal entry is TWO substantive paragraph, but you are encouraged to write as much as you wish.
