What are the basic research designs?

Related to the research questions and limitations on implications or findings (causal vs relational):  What are the basic research designs?

  • What are the corresponding or additional questions used?
  • What analytical methods are used?

Identify and discuss basic designs, corresponding or additional questions, analytical methods related to research questions, and limits on implications of findings (e.g., causal vs. relational)

Nurse-client relationships

Newman pointed out that, “nurse-client relationships often begin during periods of disruption, uncertainty, and unpredictability in patient’s lives” (Smith & Parker, 2015, p. 288). Explore what she means by this statement. Then, reflect on a patient that you cared for to that you could apply her theory. Provide details of the interaction and outcomes

Learned behaviors that occur during The first year of infancy

The growth, development, and learned behaviors that occur during the first year of infancy have a direct effect on the individual throughout a lifetime. For this assignment, research an environmental factor that poses a threat to the health or safety of infants and develop a health promotion that can be presented to caregivers.

Make a 10-12 slide PowerPoint health promotion, with speaker notes, that outline a teaching plan. For the presentation of your PowerPoint, use Loom to create a voice-over or a video. Include an additional slide for the Loom link at the beginning, and an additional slide for references at the end.

Include the following in your presentation:

  1. Describe the selected environmental factor. Explain how the environmental factor you selected can potentially affect the health or safety of infants.
  2. Choose a health promotion plan that can be presented to caregivers to address the environmental factor and improve the overall health and well-being of infants.
  3. Offer recommendations on accident prevention and safety promotion as they relate to the selected environmental factor and the health or safety of infants.
  4. Offer examples, interventions, and suggestions from evidence-based research. At least three scholarly resources are required. Two of the three resources must be peer-reviewed and no more than 6 years old.
  5. Provide readers with two community resources, a national resource, and a Web-based resource. Include a brief description and contact information for each resource.

You are required to cite a minimum of three peer-reviewed sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years, appropriate for the assignment criteria, and relevant to nursing practice

Evaluate An Evidence-based practice project

Dexedrine for Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder

Greg requested some Dexedrine for Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. He told the Physician that he had been on Dexedrine since age 5 or 6 but had been off it about a year ago and wanted to get back to it. He added that Dexedrine helps. He denied any side effects of the medication.

Greg reports poor concentration, poor focusing, getting distracted, and forgetting things. He added that he has been feeling hyper all the time and that he cannot sit still.

He reports that the symptoms get worse after stopping taking his medication. Also, he believes it affects his grades in the University.

Questions:

a. What symptoms of ADHD does your patient present with?

b. What are other possible causes of his symptoms?

c. What further information, if any, would you like about this case?

d. With the assumption that the patient does have ADHD, what medication would you prescribe (list name and dose)? Why?
