The leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the US is cardiovascular disease

The leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the US is cardiovascular disease. It is commonly a result of years of chronic inflammatory changes to the lining of the blood vessel (endothelium) caused by excessive calories (free radical oxygens from burning fats) and lack of exercise (insulin resistance) and/or smoking. Metabolic syndrome is a constellation of excessive central fat (waist>hip ratio) high blood pressure + elevated LDL with low HDL + insulin resistance (pre-diabetes) or Type 2 diabetes. We use medications in combinations to reduce LDL cholesterol, reduce triglycerides, reduce weight, lower blood pressure, improve insulin resistance, and lower blood sugar levels.

Choose one drug from each of these categories and discuss how they work together better than they would work separately. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of how they interact on the body (pharmacodynamics).

The process of thyroid hormone synthesis and the regulation of thyroid hormone

Normally, lodine is transported from the blood into the lumen of the follicle of the thyroid gland, There, the iodine is attached to the thyroglobulin, also in the lumen of the thyroid follicle, to become iodinated-thyroglobulin. Next, the follicle cell converts the iodinated thyroglobulin into T3 and T4 hormones, which is then secreted into the blood.

Based on what you know about the process of thyroid hormone synthesis and the regulation of thyroid hormone T3 and T4 production, what would happen fo the levels of (amount of) each of the following hormones in the blood if there was not enoughiostine in the blood (you garnet have to write a complete sentence, but make sure i knew which hormone you are answering:

1. What would happen to the levels of thyroid hormones T3 and Ta hormones in the blood if there was not enough iodine?

2. What would happen to the levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone ISHI in the blood if there was not enough iodine? 3. what would happen to the levels of throrotronincreleasioithormone:IRH in the blood if there

The key achievement of the sensorimotor stage of development

Piaget believed that object permanence is the key achievement of the sensorimotor stage of development. In Piaget’s view, this occurs by 2 years of age for most individuals. For an example of this phenomenon in action, see the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwXd7WyWNHY&feature=related (you may need to paste the link into your browser window)

Some developmental psychologists, while acknowledging Piaget’s vast contributions to the field, nonetheless question his views regarding object permanence. In your own view or experience, do you feel that object permanence (i.e., understanding that something persists even when out of view) develops as noted by Piaget, or is it possible that individuals have an understanding of object permanence even earlier?

The driving practice model for advanced practice nursing

In what ways could an understanding of systems theory and complexity science impact the role of the NP?

Take a few minutes to reflect on the NP practice model that is most predominant in advanced practice environments you have observed. Are you satisfied with the demonstrated level of interprofessional collaboration?

Briefly consider what appears to be the driving practice model for advanced practice nursing in your state. If your state lags behind in its practice model language, what might you do to facilitate change?
