The concept of providing culturally sensitive care to your clients is outlined in the CNO Standards on ” Culturally Sensitive Care”. The most common barrier to providing culturally sensitive care is:

1-Lack of experience and fear

2-Lack of education about specific cultural practices

3-Lack of support from administration

4-An underlying assumption that cultural issues cannot be addressed
