HEAL13551 Caring for Clients with Ongoing Conditions Pain Management and the role of the personal support worker Mr. Pereira is 75 years old man, has chronic arthritis and has returned home after having surgery for prostate cancer. He lives at home with his wife. He is very independent and believes it is a show of weakness to admit to having pain. You visit him on Tuesdays and Fridays to help him with a shower. When you arrive today is sitting in his recliner with his eyes closed. He is answering your questions with short answers although his voice is quieter than usual. During the conversation he frowns frequently and rubbing his forehead. He appears very tired. He admits to not sleeping well but denies pain. He is refusing to have a shower today stating that he is too tired.
