Congestive heart failure
A 52-year-old male with congestive heart failure. His height is 5’7” and his weight is 165 lbs. Rx: Administer digoxin 8 mcg/kg, in divided doses q4h over 12h, diluted in 50mL of 0.9% sodium chloride over a period of 15 minutes. Based on the prescribed dose and the information below,
1) how much digoxin will the patient receive per dose?
2) How many mL of digoxin will need to be added to 50mL of 0.9% sodium chloride?
