Cost reduction in hospitals

As the Facilities Director for a small community hospital, you have been told that your hospital will be acquired by a larger conglomerate hospital in the coming months. Orders from above suggests that you will be asked to look at cost reduction ideas, opportunities to leverage existing resources between both hospitals, and prepare your team for the change to come. You have a mixed roster of employees, from longer service (less then five years to retirement), to recent trade school grads, and in between. Feedback over the years suggests you are a trusted and respected leader overall. Given these realities, what approaches would you consider leveraging in going forward?
