Environmental health risk assessment

During July 2002, 5 patients at a community hospital in Washington, DC, were diagnosed with active Tuberculosis disease. An employee at this hospital was also diagnosed with active Tuberculosis in September 2002. The Washington Dc Department of Health contacted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and requested assistance with an investigation of this unusual occurrence (outbreak) of Tuberculosis.
