Meal plan
Design and follow a meal plan for two days that meets your personal calorie recommendations while limiting sodium to 2 g (2000 mg) daily.
- Keep a record of your food and beverage choices and your responses to this diet change. Total your sodium intake for each of the 2 days to make sure you actually consumed 2 g or less on each day. Be sure to include both your calorie intake total and sodium intake total for each day.
- Write and submit a two-page, double-spaced, thoughtful, and thorough response to the questions listed below. Remember that this assignment consists of two components—the diet itself and your two-page essay response to the questions provided with the assignment.
- What materials or resources did you use to create your modified diet?
- What did you do to stay on the diet?
- Did any cultural, social, or psychological factors affect your ability to stay on the 2 g sodium diet?
- How did you feel? What was difficult?
- What was easy that you expected to be difficult? What did you gain from this activity that you can use in your profession or in your interaction with people on special diets? Do you have any other comments to share about this?
