Method of reproduction

The tetrapods still maintain the general method of reproduction seen for the earlier chordates (e.g. fish) but modify their methods of reproduction to fit their lifestyle. The amniotes adapt the soft eggs of fish to have a protective shell but, despite thousands of years of evolution, amphibians have maintained soft eggs similar to those seen in fish
