Palliative care clients

Clients who are in palliative care often have difficulties with mouth sores, tenderness and pain. This can be a result of medications, vomiting, dry mouth and or disease process. What are ways in which you as a PSW can help with symptom management? What would you do if a client refused mouth care due to the discomfort that they are experiencing?
