Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs
Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) are a tool for prescriptive authority providers in providing the best care possible for patients amidst the opioid epidemic and other concerns with controlled substances. In this policy brief, please address the following:
Federal policies, regulations, recommendations, and/or requirements for PDMP use by Providers with prescriptive authority State (Kansas) policies, regulations, recommendations, and/or requirements for PDMP use by Providers with prescriptive authority How the PDMP is to be used by the Provider (“Do’s”) How the PDMP should NOT be used by the Provider (“Do Not’s”)
