Positive quantitative research approach

Identify your own response to the following: If the positive quantitative research approach focuses on measuring numbers and finding the statistical differences and the constructive ( qualitative) research approach focuses on discovering feelings, attitudes, and lived experiences, could one researcher use both approaches in their research? Why or why not?
