Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are almost three times more likely as non-Indigenous people to be daily smokers (van der Stern, Greenhalgh, Hanley Jones, Knoche, & Winstanley (2020). In 2017, approximately 44% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women reported smoking during pregnancy (van der Stern et al., 2020).
