Rapid strep test for patient
You have a 15 year old male patient that presents to the office with a sore throat. You complete a rapid strep test and discover that the patient has Group A Strep and now needs to be treated with antibiotics.
1. What would treat this patient withand why? What if the patient had an allergy to Primary Care Networks? Why would you choose that medication?
2. The patient presents a three weeks later with another positive rapid strep test. What would you choose now for an antibiotic?
3. What if the patient was a five year old female weighing 50 lbs with no allergies? What would you choose and why?
