Role of culture in International Psychology research

A major international corporation based in the U.S. has been experiencing challenges with relationship building between managers (most of whom are from the U.S). and technicians from another country of your interest, utilizing literature to support your choice of country.

It appears that most of the conflicts between managers and technicians, often result in differences over how time is managed, meeting established deadlines for projects that require everyone’s participation. The Human Resource Department has reached out to you due to your expertise in working with cross-cultural groups, to help the department understand the source of these conflicts that are negatively impacting production and potential solutions.

Based on your training in International Psychology research you elect to present a proposal. In your executive summary of the research initiative, you will explain the following to the HR Department:

  • Explore the role of culture in International Psychology  research and its significance in understanding cross-cultural issues.
  • Articulate the goals of International Psychology research are, according to the literature you have been exposed to in this course.
  • Propose the specific interventions and recommendations you will employ and their relevance to understanding the conflict taking place within the organization.
  • Identify types of bias, according to the literature you  have read in this course, you will be careful to avoid.
