Skin structure infection
A 38-year-old female with complicated skin and skin structure infection (cSSSI). Her height is 5’4” and her weight is 154 lbs. Rx: Administer 4mg/kg daptomycin in a 50mL intravenous infusion bag containing 0.9% sodium chloride for a period of 30 minutes. Final concentration to be 50mg/mL; there are two formulations that have differences concerning storage/reconstitution – Cubicin vs. Cubicin RF. Based on the prescribed dose and the information below, how many mL of the reconstituted solution will need to be added to 50mL of 0.9% Sodium chloride?
