Describe and explain the effects of nicotine on the cardiovascular system

have a question about biology A- levels CIE . Describe and explain the effects of nicotine on the cardiovascular system that can contribute to a person developing coronary heart disease.

My answer is this…..Nicotine makes platelets sticky causing them to easily clot. In the coronary arteries, sticky platelets increase the risk of atherosclerosis. The plaque may break through the lining of the artery to give a rough surface. The blood can no longer flow smoothly and tends to clot. This is called thrombosis and this increases the blood pressure and heart rate.

Can someone correct my answer and please explain what I just wrote and tell me more about this because honestly I don’t understand anything. Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
