The Cunningham equation
A 20-year-old female soccer player who is 5’8” and weighs 150 lbs and is 18% body fat. She currently trains for around an hour a day with her usual activities of walking to class and around campus.
Calculate her total energy needs (TDEE) using all 3 equations discussed (Cunningham, Harris Benedict, and Mifflin St. Jeor). In order to calculate using the Cunningham equation, please use the body fat given and find total lean body mass in kilograms. Once you calculate RMR, choose an appropriate activity factor to find total energy needs using each equation. How do these differ between the 3?
