October 2021 NUR104 Critical Thinking Exam 2 Direct your Focus on "Key terms", "Scientific Knowledge Base" & "Nurse Knowledge Base" sections of each chapter as well as tables and boxes related to "Nurse Assessment Questions", "Patient teaching", and anything that states "Factors influencing . . .". Also do practice questions at the end of the chapters and review the rationales through Evolve. Review and understand each step in the nursing process (ADPIE) -helpful hint the RN always assesses before implementing an intervention and evaluates after an intervention. 1. Understand factors that affect the bloods capacity to carry oxygen to vital organs 10. Understand what medical conditions require caution when using oxygen therapy & why 11. Know the terms & s/s of hypoxia; hyper/hypothermia; hypo/hypertension 12. Know how to position patients in bed to promote sleep, breathing, & comfort 13. Have a basic understanding of medications that can affect safety & increase fall risks 14. Know s/s of sleep apnea & how to manage & treat it 15. Know how to promote/practice good sleep hygiene 16 Kn
