The psychosocial life changes
Mohammed Tashir is a 58-year-old man Muslim man with 3 adult children. He is a recently widowed Somalian refugee who has lived in downtown Toronto for more than 20 years, Mohammed is referred to the pain clinic for treatment of chronic back pain. Mohammed does not wish to take any drugs, as they are frowned upon in his culture, but he makes exceptions when necessary for his health. In the past, he has been unwilling to take opioids for his pain. Mohammed hopes that the pain clinic can offer him relief in the form of medication or other therapies because his back pain has become intolerable.
