Therapy for a non-fatal problem

Some patients are adamant that they want to use alternative treatments in their therapy. Describe whether a patient has a right to choose their therapy for a non-fatal problem such as pain or a possible fatal problem such as cancer and assess whether their provider should be required to collaborate on such therapy. If the patient chooses a therapy that is culturally based, relate whether they should be able to continue the therapy and if not, why not. Describe how nurses can obtain information on alternative therapies to share with the interdisciplinary team including patients and families
