After learning about value-based health care last week, please discuss your thoughts on quality vs. value. What is the difference in the two? Quality measures directly impact reimbursements to hospitals and providers. At what point does demand for care outweigh a quality measure?

Explain this line and if you think the U.S. healthcare system is approaching this line with examples to support.

Compare and contrast quality vs. quantity by basic definition. Administrators have historically focused on numbers (i.e., how many of this or how much of that). Discuss the mindfulness and softer side of quality and how these measures are important to health care.

Which is most effective to an organization from a leader’s perspective: quality or quantity? Should one outweigh the other or are they both of equal importance?
