TASK: construct a mind map outlining the following: What was needed for societies to start and develop? What causes societies to flourish and grow?

3. What legacy was left by these societies?

For each, you will need to identify political, economic, social requirements/developments that occurred in ancient societies (Egypt, Greece, Rome, Europe) that answer those questions.

For events/developments on the mind map, you must answer the following:

• What were short term consequences of the event? (i.e., what happened immediate or days, months or years later in ancient societies because of the event/development?)
• What were some long-term consequences of the event? (i.e., how did the event/development last long term either by influencing another society and/or by leaving a legacy?)
• What were some intended consequences of the event? (i.e., what was supposed to happen because of the event/development?)
• What were some unintended consequences of the event? (i.e., what happened that was NOT supposed to happen because of the event/development)
• Was it ethically justifiable? (i.e., Whose perspectives are missing? Who benefitted from the event who did not benefit from the event?)
