There are numerous ways in this place to help maintain a healthy physical environment for the seniors, for example:

Volunteering/Feeling useful and needed

Retirement means extra time to volunteer. You have many different options to volunteer.

Seniors Programs- social and recreational groups (in-person, on the phone, or over Zoom!)

Senior Peer Support- provide one-on-one support and guidance to fellow seniors through challenging times in their lives.

Foodbank or Food Distribution Volunteers

Make hand-made crafts for sale at the senior Centre.

Community Thrift Shop

Keep up with Family

Designate a day of week or month to have a family dinner or get together. That will give them the time to catch up and see their grandchildren. Just around the city, there are various restaurants that they can go to. Staying in contact with their family will keep them happy and healthy. It will also help to reduce stress and anxiety.

Get out and Exercise

The family can drive them to George McLean Park, Deer Lake Park

This park is situated in a peaceful natural environment that serves as the cultural centre of our city. Leisurely walking trails with scenic views

Reduce Stress

Stress is a significant cause of illness. To reduce stress, exercise, meditate and laugh. Laughter is a way to stimulate breathing heart rate, and it helps to release endorphins in your brain, creating a healing response to aches and pains.
