The concept of intergenerational trauma

Do you believe that the concept of intergenerational trauma should also apply to families in which there is no specific historic precipitant but there is a history of trauma-producing behavior within the family (e.g., substance abuse or domestic violence)? Why or why not?

Evaluation of a Cognitive-Behavioral Approach

Read Whitfield’s 1999 article, “Validating School Social Work: An Evaluation of a Cognitive-Behavioral Approach to Reduce School Violence,” and answer the following questions in an APA formatted document:

  1. What was the purpose of this study?
  2. What was the sample?
  3. What dependent variables were studied? How were the dependent variables operationalized?
  4. Why was a single-subject design used? What are the strengths of a single-subject design?
  5. What were the key findings (the results of the data analysis)?
  6. How would you critique the findings? What are the limitations of a single-subject design?

Cognitive development in young children

Consider these examples of research findings:

1. High satisfaction with one’s direct supervisor leads to lower levels of employee turnover. In other words, employees who are highly satisfied with their direct supervisor are less likely to leave an organization than employees who are dissatisfied with their direct supervisor (DeConinck, 2009).

2. High levels of parental reading are associated with faster cognitive development in young children. In other words, children who are read to more by their parents show faster cognitive development than children who are read to less often (National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, 2007)

3. The experience of being socially excluded leads to increases in aggressive behavior. Research has found that when people are excluded by others, they are more likely to behave aggressively, even to people who did not initially exclude them (Twenge, Baumeister, Tice, & Stucke, 2001)

4. Defendants who wear glasses are less likely to be convicted by juries as being guilty of committing violent crimes (Brown, Henriquez, & Group, 2008).

Describe a potential mediator and moderator that could apply to each research finding. Please

Consider environmental constraints you might encounter as a behavior analyst. How might you handle them in the field?

Principles of biomedical ethics

Hello professor and class, I hope all is well with everyone. The four principles of biomedical ethics are Autonomy, Justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence. These principles are important because they determine whether a medical practice is ethical. While all four are equally important, it is hard to accurately order them.

Depending on the case different principles will be prioritized, as some, or maybe only one will be prominent in a particular situation (Grand Canyon University, 2019). Respect for autonomy is a principle that requires that we respect the decision made by a person. Medical staff attending to a patient must respect their autonomy and follow their directive’s amiss medical advice. (2) Non-maleficence is the principle that requires a person to cause no harm to another person. (3) Beneficence, this principle requires people to prevent injury to another person, and also to provide a balance, of benefits regardless of risk and cost. (4) Justice is a principle that refers to making things fair, by distributing the benefits, risks, and costs equally. (GCU. Edu n.d.).

The provision of percutaneous coronary interventions

The provision of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) for patients with occlusive cardiac vascular disease has been a growing trend since the procedure debuted in the late 1970s. The nursing continuum of care that ushers the patient through the PCI process can have a large impact on short- and long-term clinical outcomes.

How can epidemiology be used to improve outcomes for patients who have undergone Percutaneous Coronary Interventions?
