Chest tube
A patient experienced SOB when his chest tube became occluded. Once he was stabilized, he asked why he became so SOB. Which is the best response?
1. When the tubing was occluded, it allowed fluids to back up in the lung preventing it from expanding. This is what caused you to become SOB.
2. When the tubing was occluded, it created negative pressure in the tube, which caused you to SOB.
3. when the tubing was occluded, it increased the suction from the unit which caused you toSOb.
