Roe v. Wade has been the law of the land regarding abortion since the 1970s. What are the biggest changes that will occur based on the recent news out of the Supreme Court, including the leaked draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization?
- Under Supreme Court decisions (including the Roe v. Wade, or the draft of Dobbs, if it becomes law), must a state impose any regulation on abortion? If a state wanted to allow elective abortion through the third trimester, could they do so legally? Why or why not?
